Why is this song important to New Zealand? - Because it is used to remember the fallen soldiers that sacrificed their lives at ANZAC Cove and every other ANZAC / Soldier that served for our country.
What is the history behind the Last post? - The Last post was first used as a signal to wake up soldiers and to get them up for the day. It was later used in the 19th Century in England as a final Farewell to fallen Soldiers and comrades.
What does this song represent? - The Last post symbolizes that the duty of the dead has finished and that they can rest in peace. It is also used as a way to honor all soldiers in the military.
